Adult Wednesday Swim - Technique Swim Squad and Own Swim. Min age 15yrs.

The Wednesday swim now includes the opportunity for swimmers to develop their technique.

What is the TECHNIQUE SWIM SQUAD?
A Coached swim session in Shrewsbury School, purely focused on front crawl technique.
How does it work?
Book onto the session and turn up - the technique session takes up two lanes at the moment with 4'ish in each lane.
What kind of things do we do?
The focus is very much on technique, so there are a lot of drills and practice of various aspects of the stroke.  This is combined with swimming lengths to put it into practice.  The more competent swimmers swim more lengths.
Do I need to be able to swim?
You need to be able to swim front crawl for about half a length....don't worry if you can't put your face in, we can work on that!
What if I turn up and can't quite do it all?
Have a short rest!  The Coach isn't going to force you to do anything you can't do.
I'm a good swimmer, what's in it for me?
It's always good to dedicate some time to eradicating bad habits and to focus on efficient swimming rather than thrashing out the metres.  There are other very competent swimmers in the Group so you'll find you are among others who are just refining bits of technique to get even better.
What if I just want to do my own swim?
That's fine - there are 4 other lanes available for own swims.

There is a limit on numbers - 30 at the moment. You need to book and pay for your session in advance via the club website. Bookings open at 5.00pm on the Thursday prior to the session. Bookings close at 23.55 on the day of the session.

You can check availability and book your place here (this link takes you to an external website). If you later find you cannot attend please try to cancel your place (using the link in your booking confirmation email) so that someone else can attend. You will receive a refund of 50% of the fee you pay to the club (there is no refund of the booking fee).

Covid-19 is still with us. If you feel unwell, don't attend any club sessions. Also please ensure that you follow all Government Guidelines in force at the time. The latest Government guidance can be seen here
