Adult Friday Swim Squad (coached). Min age 15yrs
To find the pool - What3words - length.harsh.congratulations will get you to a small gate on Ashton Road. Use that gate if it's open, or park by the tennis courts and walk along the path past the cricket nets to the building with the 1/2 dome roof. Parking in the School grounds is not permitted.
How does it work? Book onto the session and turn up - the Coach will split everyone into ability lanes and then take the session.
Do we all do the same thing? Yes, the Coach has a session but may give the faster swimmers more reps and the less fast swimmers less reps.
Do I need to be able to swim? Yes, you'll enjoy the session much more if you can swim 100m in one go. If you can't quite do this yet, then have a look at the Weds Technique session.
What if I turn up and can't quite do it all? Have a short rest! The Coach isn't going to force you to do anything you can't do.
I'm a good swimmer, what's in it for me? As it is a squad session, there will be others in your lane either at or above your ability....so there is always someone there to race/be competitive with. Training with others always helps to push you.
There is a limit on numbers - 30 at the moment. You need to book and pay for your session in advance via the club website. Bookings open at 17.00 on the Saturday prior to the session, and close at 23.55 on the day of the session.
You can check availability and book your place here (this link takes you to an external website). If you later find you cannot attend please try to cancel your place (using the link on your confirmation email). You will receive a refund of 50% of the fee you pay to the club (there is no refund of the booking fee).
Covid-19 is still with us. If you feel unwell, don't attend any club sessions. Also please ensure that you follow all Government Guidelines in force at the time. The latest Government guidance can be seen here
